Sydney Carter (1915–2004)

Sydney Carter was a poet and folk singer. He wrote hymns very familiar to anyone at a Church of England primary school in the 1980s, such as ‘Lord of the Dance’. Sydney performed alongside some of the greats of the English folk music scene of the 1950s and 1960s. He also contributed to the satirical television show ‘That was the week that was.’
