The Nettle Dress film screening with West Norwood Free Film Festival
Friday 6 June
7.30pm-9pm
Textile artist Allan Brown spends seven years making a dress by hand just from the fibre of locally foraged stinging nettles.
This is 'hedgerow couture', the greenest of slow fashion and also his medicine.
It's how he survives the death of this wide and finds a beautiful way to honour her.
A modern-day fairytale and hymn to the healing power of nature and slow craft.
This is a FREE event, but essential to book due to limited places: BOOK HERE

West Norwood Free Film Festival (WNFFF)
With a passion for community film screenings, WNFFF have been part of the network of volunteer-powered Free Film Festivals since 2017. WNFFF has established close links with local businesses and they have shown cool films in unusual settings, such as the Clockworks Museum and West Norwood Cemetery. Other places you might have seen screenings at include St Luke’s, West Norwood’s oldest church and Sole Luna, a family-run Italian bistro.
They are always on the lookout for volunteers. If you’d like to get involved in planning the next WNFFF festival, please do get in touch. They would love to hear from you! You might get involved in choosing films, updating social media, approaching venues or looking for local sponsors – and we really need to find some funding. It’s not just about helping out on the night of a screening.
No experience needed, just an enthusiasm for film and local events.
