Brass and Forget-me-nots

We have already held an Open Weekend to celebrate the restoration of St Stephen's Chapel in the Hellenic Enclosure, and now we celebrate the completion of the whole National Lottery Heritage Project with an Opening Ceremony on Saturday 31 May, 11am - 12noon to which everyone is invited.
There will be Brass and Forget-me-nots.
Brass with the Crystal Palace Brass Band marching to the entrance as the gates are symbolically reopened to mark our New Beginning, as the cemetery welcomes in the community
Forget-me-nots as you will be invited to scatter their seeds in a symbolic gesture of remembrance, care and connection - and a lovely way to close the project.
The Mayor of Lambeth will preside over the proceedings.
Then move on through the cemetery to discover the Effra Fleet that so many in the community contributed to at our Open Days. The Fleet will be sailing right through our brand new Visitor Centre. Come and find the figure you made floating along.
Visit our brand new public Exhibition telling many of the different stories our cemetery holds - its history, its architecture, the lives of those buried here, our butterflies, birds and foxes.
And then there's the Museum of the Moon - plus ten days of all kinds of events and activities - find out more here
