John Britton (1771-1857)

John Britton was the author of 26 volume series called ‘The Beauties of England’. He travelled extensively around the country, recording the details of its natural landscape and built environment. John became and expert in medieval architecture, writing 14 books about England’s cathedrals. His it looks like a henge – a very unusual design – and reflects his interest in ancient monuments.
