Burges Family Tomb

William (1827-1881) was a successful architect. His father, Alfred (1796-1886), was a civil engineer whose firm, Walker and Burges built railways, bridges and marine buildings such as lighthouses and docks. William’s buildings included Cork Cathedral and Cardiff Castle.  He also designed his own home in Kensington, and this tomb. William’s sister (1842-1859) and mother (1804-1855), both called Elizabeth, are buried here too.
