Arthur Anderson (1792-1868)

Arthur Anderson went from a boy who gutted fish on the beach to founding a major shipping company. Forced to join the navy, Arthur was discharged after ten years, penniless. He got a job as a clerk in shipping firm in London and eventually become a partner. Arthur went on to be a co-founder of P&O.
